On the move

I have packed up my entire office and moved all the stuff down to our new house in Lubbock. My office here at Wayland was a good 10′ by 15′ and I am moving into an office at the house with much less room for books and stuff, probably around 8′ by 8′. It will be good to have an office at home, but I just don’t know if I’ll be able to use it as well as I did here.

The reason I have to complain is that I don’t have an office at work now. For my new job at Tech I’ll have a station in a genetics lab. It’s kinda cool and I am going to have some top of the line computing equipment. Plus, above all else, I’ll have a window. I think I’m solar powered because working the cave of an office I have at Wayland for the last seven years has been the worst part of my job. Okay, maybe not the worst. There was always grading.

There are plans to change the face of this blog over the course of the next few weeks. Since I am undergoing a change from mathematician to mathematician/bioinformaticist, I plan to have the topics and even the look of this blog reflect this. Coming soon: Questions that bioinformaticists answer. I hope to answer the question for a few of you what I actually will be doing.

I like the bulldozer, nice touch. I was going to ask you if you needed any help moving stuff out of your office. Once again, my timing was impeccible.
